French manufacturer ROOF is adding a new member to their team. Meet the BoXXer! It has all the tricks and treats of its carbon fiber sibling, the BoXXer Carbon, but this time it's constructed of fiberglass. The result is a helmet that seats neatly in between the Boxer V8 and the BoXXer Carbon and it could just be the best of both worlds. Because it's made of fiberglass rather than carbon fiber, the BoXXer's price is less intimidating but you still get a significant upgrade from the Boxer V8 in terms of comfort and ease of use. The BoXXer has an automatic locking system: just push the chin piece down and it will click right into place. Furthermore, the BoXXer has an improved visor seal to keep wind and water out.The chin strap has also been updated. You will now find a micrometic quick release buckle, rather than the "seatbelt style" chin strap on the Boxer V8. The new chin strap is fixed to the shell at 4 points (usually 2) to improve safety and to prevent the helmet from rolling backwards during an accident.All in all; the new BoXXer is a great choice if you love the look of the Boxer V8, but you need some more comfort but don't want to break the bank on a BoXXer Carbon.
